Project365; Day 75. Shades of blue.
I had a yearning to hear the sea today, so we went to West Wittering and walked around East Head. I enjoyed the fact that it was a mizzly drizzly day, with everything smudged grey and muted by mist. I was taking pictures of the two blue boats in the background, when this matching blue pair walked into shot. I love their mirrored positions.

Such a peaceful picture – and somehow very calming. You really did capture a moment there. It would be wonderful if that father and son could have that image to keep and look back on in the future…
I was thinking the same thing, Faith, but I’ve no idea how I could find out who they are. I did tweet it to a couple of local accounts and the National Trust, but even so, it’s very unlikely they’d see it. It’s a shame, because it’s a lovely picture (though I do say so myself! 😊).
That is a fantastic picture, right down to the reflections in the water – and I love the background!
I always associate your photographs with animals and flowers. This is such a good human portrait. I think humans are so difficult to photograph and keep natural. Amelia

Oh God! W Wittering! Where we went in my childhood. Tar on the beach. Barbed wire entanglements at the back of the beach left from WW2. Picnics with sulphuric hard-boiled eggs lightly covered in crunchy sand. Weather much as in your photo… Thanks for the memories Lucy (ps I’m sure that since the 60s it is the very cote d’azure of the south coast – your point, I think! RH
You’ve painted a vivid picture there, RH! 😄 Sand dunes with waving grasses now, instead of barbed wire, and no tar on the beach, thankfully. We had lunch at a rather lovely local pub, so no sandy sulphuric eggs, either!
