Surrey365; Day 86. Purple Toadflax on Polling Day.

Even on a grey, windy, chilly polling day, I don’t have to look far for my dose of nature. This was taken from the sofa on a drizzly afternoon; a carder bumblebee (I think!) on purple toadflax, on full zoom giving a nice ‘bokeh’ (blurry background). I didn’t ever plant this in the garden; the seeds arrived from somewhere and it spread itself all around. It’s beautiful and the bees love it, so I’ve not minded the way it’s taken over. Last year it produced a beautiful pale pink variety  – lovely things happen when you let nature take its course. 🙂
