1. Southern Hawker Dragonfly

The beauty of having a pond in your garden is that you get to see incredible things like the emergence of dragonflies after they’ve spent years living as nymphs in your pond. The wings of this newly emerged southern hawker dragonfly make me think of stained glass; I love the way the colour of the campanula diffuses through the lacework detail of his wings. I think this is one of the best photographs I’ve ever taken… I’m really pleased with it! πŸ™‚
