Flowers in the middle of winter.

I think my garden is a bit confused. This week I noticed a marigold blooming in the veg bed, despite having had a few frosts since autumn. Also the Ceanothus is blossoming in several places. It must be all the mild, very wet weather we’ve been having. I meant to capture the Calendula flower in full bloom but didn’t get around to it, then we had a frost yesterday morning and I thought I’d better photograph it while I still could. I always thought that they were frost tender, but it hasn’t seemed to have wilted.

    • I was seeing the odd flower on them into October and November this year Charles, but I thought that once we’d had a few hard frosts then that would be it. I was very surprised to see this little fella peeping out at me!
