Heather in bloom

These are from a walk this week at Thursley. The colours there are stunning at the moment; the bracken and the leaves of the birch are just starting to turn yellow, picking up the colour of the gorse flowers amongst the vivid purple of the heather. Everywhere there are perfectly circular holes in the sand, made by mining bees.
