There’s a cancer treatment right there…

The common yew, Taxus baccata, is a valuable source of cytotoxic alkaloids called taxanes, used to manufacture the chemotherapy drug Taxotere® (docetaxel). What is poisonous to us (all parts of the tree are, so never eat any part of it) is also poisonous to tumours.

It makes me think of a christmas decoration, the way it’s just suspended there all jewelled and sparkly.
