roaming the wilds of south west Surrey

Sunny evening on the River Wey

At the end of a recent hot day we thought we’d take a stroll along the river into Godalming for a refreshing pint. The warm evening light was just beautiful and the temperature was just right – hot enough to work up a thirst, but not to get too sweaty.

Catteshall Lock is the southernmost lock of the River Wey navigations, a stretch of canalised river between Godalming and the point where the Wey meets the Thames at Weybridge. The history of the transformation of the river into a canal can be found on this site, along with lots of other interesting information about the area.

Lovely, peaceful pictures. They remind us that the sun has shone at times, this “summer”!

  2. Thank you. I think that when the sun does come out, it feels extra special!
